The work was physically demanding. She weighed 65 kg initially and lost weight, dropping to 49 kg. She was required to mop the floor up to seven times a day upon Mdm’s request. According to Sir, her employment period was the longest, as previous helpers had only worked for five days to two weeks.

Housework, infant care of 2 babies, childcare and occasional cooking.  Ah gong was looked after by another helper when he was unwell.

Ah gong passed on.  Sir was not working so could not afford to hire a helper.

Family of 2.  Sir 63yo and his daughter 21yo.  Mdm was working in India. 

Performed household chores, cooking, and marketing, and attended to Sir when he was ill with a brain tumour, including tube feeding, insulin injections, administering medication, showering, changing diapers, and accompanying him to the park for outdoor time and light exercise. Subsequently, Sir became bedridden.

HDB 5 room, own room.

Sir was brought back to India and passed away 3 months later.

Sir and Mdm divorced.  Mdm left for Malaysia with her children.  She was transferred.

Sir and Mdm divorced, after which Mdm went back to her hometown with her son.  She was returned to her agency.

 Managed household chores and laundry for two households (Ah Gong’s home and his daughter’s home), washed two cars (one from each family), handled marketing/grocery purchases for both families, and attended to all of Ah Gong’s daily needs. Ah Gong would wake up two to three times every night requesting food, and she attended to him each time.

Landed 3 storey house, slept in the living room as ah gong also slept in the living room. 

She was unable to cope with the workload and requested for a transfer.
